A MIXED MEDIA PAINTING ON CARDBOARD, SIGNED ”PICASSO,” 20TH CENTURY - Watercolor, gouache, and ink on cardboard depicting a stylized female dancer in motion, shown in three-quarter profile with raised arm and bent leg. The figure is rendered with simplified linear contours and selective color application, including a red headscarf, striped blue sleeves, a brown skirt, and black shoes. Decorative black and blue accents articulate the bodice and skirt. Signed lower right ”Picasso” in black ink. The composition reflects a theatrical or folkloric dancer theme, reminiscent of early 20th-century modernist costume studies. The execution shows uneven draftsmanship, hesitant line work, and inconsistent anatomical proportion. Verso bearing an Artlore label reading ”Dancers by Picasso” with inventory number S55-701. The backing cardboard exhibits heavy water staining, warping, tearing, and discoloration consistent with prolonged moisture exposure. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
