A HUTSCHENREUTHER PORCELAIN FIGURAL GROUP OF SEAGULLS, DESIGNED BY G. GRANGÉ, GERMANY, 20TH CENTURY - Modeled in fine white porcelain, the naturalistic group depicts two seagulls upon a rocky base, one perched and alert while the other spreads its wings in flight. The birds are finely hand-painted with shaded white and gray plumage, black crowns, and vivid orange beaks and feet. The underside with factory mark in green, Hutschenreuther Selb, Germany, and an impressed artist’s signature G. Grangè. Georges Grangè (1880–1954), a French sculptor, designed several naturalistic animal and bird models for Hutschenreuther in the early to mid-20th century.
