A LARGE OLD PARIS GILT-PORCELAIN HAND-PAINTED VASE, 19 C. - A finely hand-painted Old Paris porcelain vase, mid-19th century, of neoclassical baluster form with a square plinth base. The vase is richly decorated with gilt swan-form handles and a wide flaring gilt mouth. The body features a central cartouche painted with a pastoral scene depicting an elegantly dressed young couple in a romantic landscape, the reverse with a complementary landscape view with distant mountains and trees. The base and socle are painted with a distinctive marbled decoration in tones of turquoise, mauve, and white, framed with gilt line borders. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Dimensions: H: 17 3/4 in., (45 cm.) Condition: Overall, very good condition for age. Gilt with expected rubbing and light wear from handling. Enamel painting remains vibrant and finely preserved. The underside shows firing flaws and an old, rusted bolt mount consistent with manufacture. Minor surface wear to the base. No visible cracks or restorations noted.
