A PAIR OF CHINESE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASES ON GILT BRONZE STANDS, LATE QING DYNASTY - Each of the square sections with a tapering body, decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels against a white ground with floral sprays and scrolling foliage, framed within borders of stylized key-fret and lotus. The sides are mounted with gilt-bronze lion-mask ring handles, and each is raised on an integral gilt-bronze openwork foot of pierced foliate scroll design. The bases with traces of old labels. The square baluster form and lion mask handles are traditional Qing motifs. The white-ground floral cloisonné was popular in the late 19th century, often produced for export as decorative garniture. The gilt-bronze stands are original to the vases, enhancing their presentation value. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
