A BRONZE BUST OF NAPOLEON, FRANCE, 19TH CENTURY - A French patinated bronze bust depicting Napoleon Bonaparte in military attire, shown wearing a bicorne hat and heavy cloak over a uniform coat, the stern facial features rendered with restrained neoclassical modeling. The bust raised upon a waisted socle and square plinth, the front of the base cast with an Imperial eagle with outstretched wings. The reverse of the socle is incised ”Lambert, ” indicating the sculptor or casting foundry. The bronze cast has a warm brown patina with subtle tonal variation, the underside revealing a typical 19th-century sand-cast surface and central securing bolt. France, 19th century.
