A LARGE CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE FISH BOWL, 20TH CENTURY - A Chinese porcelain fish bowl of oval form with applied gilt handles, finely enameled in famille rose palette. The exterior is decorated with continuous figural reserves depicting courtly women and attendants in a garden terrace setting, rendered in vivid pinks, greens, and iron-red tones, framed by dense floral and geometric borders. The interior features swimming fish among aquatic plants, symbolizing abundance and prosperity, painted in underglaze and overglaze enamels against a pale celadon-toned ground. The rim is encircled with a key-fret and floral band, while the handles are gilt and stylized in traditional form. China, 20th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
