A LOT OF SIX RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL TEASPOONS, MARK OF PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1896–1908 - A highly refined set of six Russian silver-gilt teaspoons of elongated, elegant proportions, each with a slender tapering handle terminating in a spherical knop finial. The upper and lower sections of the handles are decorated with restrained cloisonné enamel panels composed of turquoise beadwork roundels and pale pink stylized leaf forms, set within fine wire partitions, creating a delicate and balanced ornamental scheme. The bowls are of classical ovoid form and retain a rich gilt wash to the interiors. The reverse of each bowl is lavishly decorated in full cloisonné enamel with a polychrome stylized foliate and scrollwork composition in shades of mint green, turquoise, cobalt blue, red, and white, arranged symmetrically around a central vertical motif. Hallmarks struck to the stems include the Cyrillic maker’s mark ”П. ОВЧИННИКОВ” for Pavel Akimovich Ovchinnikov, together with the 84 zolotnik silver standard and assay marks.
