A LOT OF FIFTEEN FABERGÉ SILVER FLATWARE PIECES, RUSSIA, CIRCA 1900 - Comprising a mixed group of fifteen pieces of Russian Imperial silver flatware by the firm of Fabergé, including forks, spoons, and table knives. Each piece is executed in a refined late Imperial pattern with tapering handles terminating in rounded terminals enriched with molded foliate ornament and shell-form detailing at the shoulders. The handles display delicate linear decoration along the stems, characteristic of Fabergé table silver produced at the turn of the twentieth century. The knives are fitted with steel blades and matching silver handles decorated en suite with the remaining pieces. The elegant yet restrained design reflects the aesthetic favored by the Fabergé workshops for table services commissioned by members of the Russian aristocracy and affluent bourgeois households in St. Petersburg and Moscow during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Flatware of this type was typically produced as part of larger dining services intended for formal table settings and presentation use. Each piece is marked on the reverse with Russian Imperial silver hallmarks, including the 84 zolotnik standard together with the Fabergé maker’s mark and the appropriate assay mark for the period. Light surface wear and minor scratches consistent with age and use. The steel blades show scattered discoloration and spotting typical for period knife blades.
