A RUSSIAN FABERGE-STYLE CASED ENAMEL EGG WITH SECRET COMPARTMENT, 20TH CENTURY - A Russian purple guilloche enamel egg mounted with gilt garlands of laurel and rosettes, also affixed with pearls, purple stones, and small porcelain appliques with painted flowers. The egg can be twisted to unlock the seam, allowing one to open up to the interior which reveals a gilt swan with purple velvet back for holding a ring, set on blue stone to emulate a gently rippling pond, two small gilt lily pads with a pink stone flower sitting next to the swan. The egg is kept atop a gilt stand in neoclassical style, comprising four posts strung with laurel garlands and topped with pink stones.
