A CARVED MALACHITE CHINESE FIGURAL GROUPING - The group carved in deep green hardstone, likely imitating malachite, depicting a dynamic mythological or courtly scene centered on a female figure in elaborate flowing robes, accompanied by attendants and set beneath a stylized dragon emerging from swirling clouds. The composition is richly layered with overlapping figures, drapery, and naturalistic elements, including waves and rockwork, demonstrating the Chinese taste for complex narrative carvings. The surface was polished to a glossy finish, enhancing the vivid green coloration and striated appearance of the stone.
