A FRENCH LIMOGES ENAMEL TRIPTYCH, LATE 19TH CENTURY - The triptych formed as a Gothic Revival shrine with a central arched panel depicting the Madonna seated and holding the Christ Child, rendered in grisaille enamel in high relief against a dark ground, the modeling soft and sculptural with finely articulated drapery folds. The hinged side panels each enclosing a kneeling angel in adoration, similarly executed in monochrome enamel, creating a unified devotional composition. The enamel plaques mounted within a carved and ebonized wooden architectural frame surmounted by a cross finial, the overall design reflecting the late 19th century revival of Renaissance Limoges enamel techniques.
