A CARVED WOOD PANEL AFTER LUCA DELLA ROBBIA (1400-1482), CHORUS OF CHILDREN, 19TH CENTURY - Carved in high relief as a group of robed children forming a church choir, one holding an open songbook while others sing or pray, standing upon a stylized decorative base. The figures rendered with expressive faces and deeply carved drapery in the Renaissance Italian taste. The original which this is based on was composed by Italian artist Luca della Robbia, and formed part of a larger installation in the Duomo of Florence. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
