A PAIR OF CARVED WOOD CORBEL BRACKETS WITH FIGURAL HEADS, PROBABLY BLACK FOREST, GERMAN, 19TH CENTURY - Each carved in hardwood as a Renaissance Revival style bracket, formed with a carved head above a scrolling support terminating in stylized foliate ornament. The faces carved in high relief with flowing hair and ruffled collars, the brackets with fluted and scroll-carved elements. These brackets were originally part of a large piece of furniture, such as a cabinet, sideboard, bookcase, or architectural interior fitting. Germany, Black Forest region, late 19th century.
