A FRENCH MOLDED COPPER BOX WITH SCENES OF PEASANT LIFE, 19TH CENTURY - A French hinged and lidded box, comprising a brass core affixed with molded copper panels, each side and the lid decorated with very finely detailed scenes of peasant life, including dancing, feasting, drinking and working. A small group of soldiers appearing in a few scenes as well. The interior is lined with a vibrant blue fabric. The underside stamped by the maker 'A. B. Paris'. France, 19th century.
