A CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN CASKET, PROBABLY GERMAN OR FRENCH, CA. 1880–1910, IN THE CAPODIMONTE STYLE. - A richly enameled porcelain box features a rectangular form with brass mountings and a hinged lid. The exterior is entirely hand-painted in a Neoclassical or Romantic style, depicting women and children in colorful attire engaged in various activities. Each panel is framed within architectural Gothic niches or columns, with a lid painted in a similar scenic theme. The base bears a blue underglaze crowned “N” mark in the style of the Capodimonte porcelain tradition. Late 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
