A RUSSIAN SILVER TEAGLASS HOLDER IN NEO-RUSSIAN STYLE, WORKSHOP OF NIKOLAI PAVLOV, 1889 - A cylindrical tea glass holder with a rectangular handle, featuring a central ornamental engraved medallion in the Neo-Russian style and the inscription “PEYTE NA ZDOROVYE” (Drink to Your Health) around the perimeter, stylized in Old Slavonic script. The upper rim, the handle, and the base bear the following hallmarks: “A.A. 1889” [Unknown assayer], assay mark “84,” St. George the Victorious – [Moscow city hallmark 1891–1896], maker’s mark in Cyrillic “NP” [Nikolai Pavlov]. Numbers are scratched into the base, likely the pawnshop’s loan number. Nikolai Pavlovich Pavlov, master silversmith, owner of a workshop for the production of gold and silver items, Moscow, active 1885–1917. (See Postnikova-Loseva, 2743). Weight: 2.9 oz., (84 g.)
