A RUSSIAN SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER, VASILY IVANOV WORKSHOP, 1892 - A cylindrical tea glass holder with a rounded handle, decorated with a simple engraved floral and geometric pattern and a beaded border along the upper rim. The central medallion bears no inscriptions. At the base of the handle, on the body of the coaster, and on the bottom, there are hallmarks: the assayer’s mark “A.A. 1892,” the fineness mark “84,” St. George the Victorious – [Moscow city hallmark], and the maker’s mark in Cyrillic “VI” [Vasily Ivanov]. Vasily Ivanovich Ivanov, owner of a silverware factory founded in 1870. In 1897, the factory produced goods worth 9,000 rubles and employed 19 workers. Moscow, active 1870–1908.
