A RUSSIAN SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER, ALEXANDER LOKIN WORKSHOP, C. 1890S - A cylindrical tea glass holder with a handle in the Neoclassical style, featuring a simple decorative motif of narrow grooves along the upper and lower rims. The body and base of the coaster bear the following hallmarks: assay mark 84 with a head in a kokoshnik facing left, assay mark—head in a kokoshnik facing left, and the maker’s mark in Cyrillic “А.Л.” [Alexander Lokin]. Lokin, Alexander Ilyich, master silversmith, St. Petersburg, active 1882–1898. (See Postnikova-Loseva, 1215). Weight: 4.3 oz., (124 g.) Dimensions: H: 3 7/8 in., (9.8 cm.)
