A RUSSIAN SILVER MILITARY PRESENTATION TEAGLASS HOLDER, 1917 - Of cylindrical form with a slightly flared foot, the body applied with a cast and chased military trophy motif of crossed bugles, oak leaves, and ribbon ties beneath a geometric band suggestive of regimental ornament. The handle of upright rectangular form with rounded return, cast and chased with stylized foliate decoration. The reverse finely engraved with a multi-line presentation inscription in Cyrillic. The interior retains traces of original gilding. The inscription reads: ”Своему руководителю Штабс-Капитану Леониду Петровичу Харитонову благодарные юнкера XIII прiема К.В.У. [Киевское Военное Училище] 2 февраля 1917 г.” (”To their commander, Staff Captain Leonid Petrovich Kharitonov, with gratitude from the cadets of the XIII draft of the K.V.U., February 2, 1917”). Hallmarks: maker’s mark ”ВА” in Cyrillic, 84 silver standard with kokoshnik. Weight: 7.1 oz., (202 g.) Dimensions: H: 4 5/8 in., (11.7 cm.)
