A SOVIET SILVER TEAGLASS HOLDER, ART NOUVEAU STYLE, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Of tapering cylindrical form on a circular foot, with a sharply angular geometric handle. The body is engraved with stylized floral and foliate ornament framing a vacant shield-shaped cartouche, with a ribbon motif below. The upper rim features a distinctive V-shaped cut-out with geometric openwork, the interior retaining a parcel-gilt finish. Hallmarks: 875 silver standard and Soviet assay mark with female head, indicating production in the USSR, mid-20th century. Weight: 3.6 oz., (102 g.) Dimensions: H: 3 3/4 in., (9.5 cm.)
