A RUSSIAN SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER NEOCLASSICAL STYLE, PETER ABROSIMOV’S WORKSHOP, MOSCOW, 19TH CEN. - A cylindrical cup holder with a body that widens toward the bottom, featuring a rounded handle with a relief floral pattern and a small palmette scroll at the lower base; the upper rim is decorated with an ornamental frieze. The upper rim, body, and base bear hallmarks: the assay mark “84” with a head in a kokoshnik facing right and a delta sign in an oval shield, and the maker’s mark “ПА” in Cyrillic in a rectangular shield [Pyotr Abrosimov]. Petr Evstratovich Abrosimov, merchant, owner of a silverware factory founded in 1869, active from 1869 to 1908; Moscow; in 1894, small silver items worth 60,000 rubles were produced.
