A RUSSIAN SILVER TEAGLASS HOLDER IN NEO-RUSSIAN STYLE, WORKSHOP OF ALEXANDER LYUBAVIN, 1878 - A cylindrical tea glass holder with a rounded handle, decorated with a geometric pattern depicting Russian towels and folk lace. At the base of the handle and on the bottom are hallmarks: a two-headed eagle in a round shield, the maker’s mark “A.L” in Latin letters in an oval shield [Alexander Lyubavin, St. Petersburg], and the assayer’s mark “84 M(eagle)D 1878” [Unknown assayer, St. Petersburg]. Alexander Benediktovich Lyubavin, owner of a silverware factory, active 1877–1917, St. Petersburg. (See Postnikova-Loseva, 1477). Weight: 4.9 oz., (138.9 g) Dimensions: H: 3 1/8 in., (7.9 cm.)
