A RUSSIAN SILVER TEAGLASS HOLDER, PRIVATE WORKSHOP OF ROMAN ARISTARKHOV, MOSCOW, 1890S - Of cylindrical form with a rectangular handle on a ring foot, the upper and lower borders decorated with geometric guilloche bands. One side engraved with a floral composition forming an asymmetrical cartouche enclosing a monogram, the reverse engraved with the date ”18 29/X 99”. The overall design reflects the historicist aesthetic of the late 19th century with restrained ornamental balance. Hallmarks: Maker’s mark ”РА” in Cyrillic for Roman Aristarkhov in a rectangular cartouche, 84 silver standard with St. George in an oval punch, Moscow. Weight: 3.0 oz. (84 g.)
