A RUSSIAN COMMEMORATIVE SILVER TEAGLASS HOLDER WITH TROIKA SCENE - Of cylindrical form on a stepped circular foot, the body applied with a finely cast and chased relief frieze depicting a troika with driver and passengers in motion, rendered in high relief with careful attention to harness, figures, and movement. The plain ground contrasts with the sculptural band, emphasizing the dynamic composition. The handle of elegant curved form with stylized foliate terminals, integrally cast and attached at upper and lower junctions. The interior retains a gilt wash. The reverse is engraved with a presentation inscription in Cyrillic. Hallmarks: maker’s mark ”SA” in Latin letters, date 1886, 84 silver standard, and St. Petersburg assay mark.
