A CONTINENTAL SILVERED AND CUT CRYSTAL PEDESTAL COMPOTE BOWL, LATE 19TH CENTURY - The compote formed as a wide, shallow cut crystal bowl with fluted sides and gilt highlights, raised on an elaborately cast and chased silvered pedestal, the stem decorated with classical and foliate elements and applied masks, the circular base with scrolling feet and ornamental panels in the Napoleon III taste. The underside is stamped ”61”. Dimensions: H: 12 1/2 in., (31.8 cm.) Conditions: Good overall condition, light wear and rubbing to plating, typical wear to the crystal with minor scratches.
