A RUSSIAN SILVER CIGARETTE CASE WITH GOLD AND ENAMEL OVRLAYS - Rectangular silver cigarette case with rounded corners and a hinged lid, the interior gilt. The cover is richly applied with sculptural gold overlays forming an elaborate presentation composition of interlaced monograms, inscriptions, and symbolic motifs. Prominent among these are stylized Cyrillic initials, a crossed implement motif, and flowing script elements likely denoting commemorative names or locations. A small white enamel plaque bearing the letter ”S” is set within the central arrangement, adding contrast to the warm tone of the gold appliqués. Additional ornamental devices include scrollwork cartouches and a small applied animal figure in relief at the lower edge. The reverse is more sparsely decorated with applied cursive gold inscriptions. The interior shows hammering points from the applied elements, consistent with hand fabrication. Hallmarks: indistinct, including a partially legible 84 silver standard and other worn marks. Weight: 6.3 oz., (180g.) Dimensions: 3 1/2 x 3 3/8 x 5/8 in., (8.9 x 8.6 x 1.6 cm.)
