A RUSSIAN SILVER SHOT GLASS WITH CITY VIEW, M. DMITRIEV WORKSHOP, 1874 - A conical-shaped shot glass on a small stem, decorated with an engraved floral and geometric pattern featuring medallions on both sides; the medallions are engraved with views of city walls and fortress towers. The body and base of the glass bear the following hallmarks: a barely legible hallmark of the assayer “?.С 1874,” the assay mark “84,” St. George the Victorious – [Moscow city hallmark], and the maker’s mark in Cyrillic “МД” [M. Dmitriev]. Dmitriev M., master of silver, repoussé, and blackened work. Moscow, active 1854–1877; in 1860, he had three workers (See Postnikova-Loseva, 2642–2645). Weight: 3.2 oz., (90 g.)
