A RUSSIAN SILVER SHOT CUP IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE, WORKSHOP OF SERGEI FROLOV, MOSCOW, LATE 19TH CENTURY - Russian silver shot cup, Moscow, late 19th to early 20th century, by Sergei Frolov. Of cylindrical form, the body is engraved with an asymmetrical floral composition featuring thistle motifs forming a cartouche. The decoration reflects a restrained late imperial taste with a naturalistic ornamental vocabulary. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard with kokoshnik facing right and delta mark, and maker’s mark ”С.Ф” in Cyrillic for Sergei Frolov in an oval cartouche, Moscow. Weight: 28 g.
