RUSSIAN SILVER SHOT CUP WITH CITY VIEWS IN CARTOUCHES, PRIVATE WORKSHOP, MOSCOW, 1895 - Of cylindrical form, the body engraved with a series of cartouches depicting stylized views of fortified city walls, arranged to form a continuous decorative medallion. The composition reflects a late 19th century interest in architectural motifs rendered in a refined engraved manner. Hallmarks: Assay master’s mark ”А.А 1895” for Anatolii Artsybashev, 84 silver standard, St. George city mark for Moscow, and an indistinct maker’s mark ”И.Р” in a rectangular cartouche.
