A LOT OF THREE RUSSIAN SILVER SALT CELLARS, MOSCOW, 1886 - Comprising three salt cellars of rounded form, each raised on three ball feet with slightly flared rims. The bodies are decorated with engraved geometric and stylized foliate ornament forming continuous friezes, characteristic of late 19th century Moscow silver. The interiors retain traces of original gilding. Hallmarks: Moscow assay mark with St. George, 84 silver standard, dated 1886, with assay master initials ”В.П” and maker’s marks in Cyrillic, including ”И.Л”. Weight: 3.1 oz., (86 g.) Dimensions: H: 1 1/2 in., (3.8 cm.) Conditions: Overall good condition with surface wear, rubbing, oxidation consistent with age and use. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
