RUSSIAN SILVER SUGAR BOWL WITH FLORAL DECORATION, UNKNOWN WORKSHOP, MOSCOW, 1891 - Of circular, bulbous form with a handle, raised on three ball feet, the body engraved with a composition of leaves and flowers forming a decorative medallion. The proportions and ornament reflect late 19th century Moscow silverwork with a balanced and functional design. Hallmarks: Assay master’s mark ”А.А 1891”, 84 silver standard, St. George city mark in rectangular cartouches, and maker’s mark ”IШ” in Cyrillic in a rectangular punch. Weight: 4.4 oz., (124 g.)
