A RUSSIAN SILVER CREAMER WITH IVORY HANDLE, ST. PETERSBURG, 1886 - Of baluster form with a gently flared rim and shaped pouring spout, raised on a stepped circular foot, the plain polished body reflecting a restrained late 19th century aesthetic. The handle of curved form fitted with carved ivory insulating grips, secured by silver mounts. The interior retains traces of original gilding. Hallmarks: date 1886, 84 silver standard, maker’s mark ”CAS” in three capital Latin letters, and St. Petersburg assay mark. Weight: 15.3 oz., (434 g.) Dimensions: H: 5 1/2 in., (14 cm.)
