A RUSSIAN SILVER COFFEE POT AND MATCHING CREAMER, ST. PETERSBURG, LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Comprising a coffee pot and matching creamer, each of baluster form on a stepped circular foot, the bodies finely engraved with flowing floral and foliate ornament in the Art Nouveau taste, centered with monogrammed cartouches. The coffee pot of elegant, slightly elongated proportion, fitted with a domed hinged cover surmounted by a finial, and a high, tapering spout suited for coffee service. The handle with ivory insulators. The creamer en suite, with shaped lip and conforming engraved decoration. Both interiors retain traces of original gilt wash. Hallmarks: Cyrillic maker’s mark ”БА”, 84 silver standard, and St. Petersburg assay mark. Weight: 24.586 oz., (697 g.) Dimensions: Coffee Pot H: 5 7/8 in., (14.9 cm.)
