The body, handle, and base bear hallmarks: the Moscow assay mark in an oval shield with notches “84” and “St. George the Victorious” [1880s], the maker’s mark in Cyrillic in an oval shield “S.F.” [Sergei Frolov, Moscow] Moscow, Russia, 1880s Sergei Alekseevich Frolov, master silversmith, Moscow, active 1889–1912, primarily produced silver tableware.
