A RUSSIAN SILVER CREAMER IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE, WORKSHOP OF NIKOLAI STRULEV, MOSCOW, RUSSIA, 1900S - Of tapering conical form, widening toward the base, raised on three ball feet, with an S-shaped handle. The body is engraved with a floral and geometric ornament characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. Hallmarks struck to the spout, handle, and underside: maker’s mark in Cyrillic ”НС” [Nikolai Strulev] in a rectangular cartouche, 84 silver standard with kokoshnik facing right in an oval cartouche with a delta mark. Nikolai Fedorovich Strulev, owner of a silver workshop, active from 1883 to after 1908, Moscow (see Postnikova-Loseva, nos. 2747–2748). Weight: 2.9 oz., (82 g.) Dimensions: H: 3 1/2 in., (8.9 cm.)
