A LOT OF FOUR KORNILOV BROS. PORCELAIN PLATES, ”GOLBEK” DESIGN, RUSSIA, CIRCA 1910 - Comprising four porcelain plates decorated in the distinctive ”Golbek” pattern, each with a broad border of stylized geometric ornament in cobalt blue and green on a white ground, the motif formed by repeating angular figures resembling birds alternating with scrolling vegetal forms executed in a deliberately pixelated folkloric style. The rim is finished with a gilt edge framed by a narrow gilt band. The undersides bear the Kornilov Brothers factory mark consisting of a shield with the Imperial double-headed eagle and the inscription in Cyrillic ”Братьев Корниловых”, together with the export mark ”Made in Russia by Kornilow Bros.” Dimensions: D: 8 1/16 in., (20.5 cm.)
