A RUSSIAN RARE KORELIAN BIRCH TREE ENAMELED FRAME
This unique wood is found only in the Gulf of Finland and the surrounding area through which St Petersburg’s River Neva flows, and is distinguished by a creamy white grain with contrasting brown flecks. Decorated with the double-headed eagles of the Romanov dynasty, enamel, gemstones, and gilt.
Dimensions: 6 1/8 x 6 1/8 in., (15.5 x 15.5 cm.)
Very good, one gemstone is lost, some minor scratches
