A PAIR OF SEVRES COBALT BLUE PORCELAIN VASES WITH ORMOLU MOUNTS, FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY - The pair of baluster form porcelain vases, richly decorated in deep cobalt blue glaze with elaborate gilt scrolling foliate and strapwork ornament in the Louis XVI taste. Each vase of compressed ovoid form with waisted neck and flared rim, highlighted throughout with finely executed raised gilt decoration against the dark blue ground. Mounted on ornate Rococo Revival style gilt bronze bases of openwork scrolling acanthus and foliate design. Marked on the interior with the Servres Factory marks. Dimensions: H: 15 3/4 in., (40 cm.) Conditions: Overall good condition. Minor surface wear to gilding and light rubbing consistent with age and handling. The ormolu mounts with scattered oxidation and minor wear.
