A FRENCH MAJOLICA HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC VASE, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - An unusual hand-painted majolica vase with depictions of lizards climbing amongst spiky grass and flowers against a bakcdrop of polychrome sky. The lizard, in addition to two large leaves, are rendered in relief, raising from the surface to give them motion. France, early 20th century. Dimensions: H: 21 1/2 in., (54 cm.) Conditions: Very good, with colors still vibrant. One horizontal surface crack at neck of vase. No other significant wear. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
