A FRENCH EMPIRE CRYSTAL BOX WITH MEDALLION, 19TH CENTURY - A French Empire crystal box of cylindrical form, finely cut with vertical faceting and a fitted cover. The lid is centered with a gilt metal medallion depicting a classical profile bust in relief. The clear crystal body is raised on a circular foot and reflects the refined neoclassical taste of the Empire period. The contrast of polished crystal and gilt detail gives the piece a formal decorative presence. Dimensions: H: 5 1/4 in., (13.3 cm.) Conditions: Good overall, with light surface wear and minor age-related rubbing to the gilt metal medallion. No major cracks or losses are visible in the image.
