A GERMAN JUGENDSTIL OPENWORK BRASS AND BRONZE LAMP - An unusual German Jugendstil brass and bronze table lamp featuring a pierced domed shade decorated with stylized grapevines, leaves, and scrolling organic motifs. The lower register of the shade is ornamented with a procession of fantastical animal figures rendered in relief, reflecting the whimsical naturalism characteristic of German Art Nouveau design. The shade is supported by an architectonic stem composed of curvilinear and geometric elements above a shaped circular base with radiating decoration. The lamp displays the strong influence of the Jugendstil movement through its integration of natural forms, flowing lines, and imaginative symbolism. Electrified for use with multiple bulbs.
