A BRONZE ART DECO SCULPTURE BY RÓBERT KERÉNYI HUNGARIAN, CA. 1930 - This is a bronze Art Deco sculpture signed KERÉNYI (Róbert Kérényí sometimes spelled Kerenyi), a Hungarian sculptor known for his bronze works in the early-to-mid 20th century. He often worked in styles reflecting Art Deco and Symbolism, and many of his figures bear dramatic, theatrical expressions and gestures, much like the piece you've shown, depicting a dramatic, theatrical figure in a robe with arms outstretched. The character’s exaggerated expression, stylized clothing, and angular pose are typical of Art Deco design, emphasizing bold, expressive form over realism. The figure wears a long, flowing robe with sharp pleats and a jagged trim at the waist, adding to the stylized theatricality. The head is adorned with a star-shaped emblem on a pointed headdress or crown, possibly suggesting a mystical or wizard-like persona.
