A BRONZE FIUGRE BY TIBOR BESZEDES (HUNGARIAN, 1874–1952), CA. 1920 - This bronze sculpture by Tibor Beszedes depicts a standing male nude with stylized Egyptian influence, particularly visible in the head covering and rigid frontal posture. The overall treatment is both classical and modernist, with a focus on musculature and idealized anatomy. Signed on the base: ”Bespedes”, which refers to Tibor Beszedes (Hungarian, 1874–1952). Tibor Beszédes was a Hungarian sculptor known for his heroic male figures, often rendered in a stripped-down, almost monumental style. His work is associated with Neoclassicism and Secessionist/Art Deco influences, especially during the interwar period. He exhibited across Europe and was active particularly in Hungary and Germany.
