A BRONZE FIGURE OF A WOMAN, ART DECO, EUROPEAN, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Cast bronze sculpture depicting a standing nude female figure shown in a contrapposto pose, her weight resting on one foot and the opposite leg gently crossed forward, creating an elegant S-shaped silhouette. The figure holds an open book or tablet raised before her chest, her head inclined downward in a contemplative gesture, suggesting learning, reflection, or allegory. The facial features and coiffure are stylized with geometric simplification and a vertically ribbed hair treatment, reflecting Art Deco and interwar modernist influences. The bronze surface displays a warm golden-brown patina with subtle tonal variation, emphasizing the modeled musculature and smooth planes. The figure is mounted on a stepped metal plinth base, secured from beneath with visible screws, consistent with 20th-century decorative bronze production.
