A BRONZE FIGURE OF CLEOPATRA WITH ASP, CONTINENTAL, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Depicting Cleopatra standing barefoot upon an octagonal marble plinth, the Egyptian queen is shown partially draped in a flowing skirt and adorned with armbands and a jeweled headband. She delicately handles the sacred asp, which coils around her arm and waist, alluding to the legendary manner of her death. The bronze bears a rich brown patina and is mounted on a polished variegated marble pedestal. Dimensions: 21 3/8 x 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 in., (54.2 x 16.5 x 16.5 cm.) Conditions: Good overall condition with an attractive aged patina. Minor surface wear, scattered abrasions, and light rubbing to high points consistent with age.
