The foundry mark of the Roman Bronze Works of New York can also be found at the base of the neck. Anna Hyatt Huntington was one of the most prominent sculptors of early 20th-century New York, creating works such as the grand 'Joan of Arc' on 93rd Street and Riverside Drive and the statue of José Martí in Central Park, and becoming especially famous for her highly expressive animal sculptures.
