A PAUL RUDIN (SWISS, 20TH CENTURY), ”RHINOCÉROS” BRONZE SCULPTURE - Signed PAUL RUDIN on the plinth, dated circa 1970. A powerful bronze sculpture of a rhinoceros in a naturalistic stance, its massive body rendered with strong modeling and textured surface, emphasizing the weight and majesty of the animal. The sculpture captures both the monumentality and quiet grace of the species, displaying the artist’s keen observation of animal anatomy and surface treatment. The patina is a deep, olive-brown with warm highlights, typical of the post-war European bronze tradition. Bronze with brown-green patina on a black marble base. Footnotes: Paul Rudin is known for his stylized yet expressive bronze animal figures produced in the mid-20th century, often representing powerful species such as bulls, elephants, and rhinoceroses.
