A SIGNED HEINZ WARNEKE (1895-1983) BRONZE, NUDE WOMAN IN ART DECO STYLE - A finely sculpted bronze of a nude woman by the German-American artist Heinz Warneke (1895-1983), a prolific and important artist in 20th century America. His corpus includes a variety of works for the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., including a memorial the stone-carver Roger Morigi, a sculpture entitled ”The Prodigal Son”, and most famously the 17-foot-tall Tympanum for the South Portal. He has also produced art for the City of New York, the Nittany Lion at Pennsylvania State College, the African Elephant and Calf at the Philadelphia Zoo, and a plethora of other works.
