A SIGNED CARL MILLES (1875–1955) BRONZE 'ANGEL', NC MUSEUM OF ART INVENTORY STICKERS - A signed gilt-bronze sculpture entitled 'Angel', by the Swedish artist Carl Milles (1875-1955), one of the most prolific and important sculptors of 19th and 20th century Sweden, studying in the workshop of Auguste Rodin in Paris, and completing such works as the Gustav Vasa statue at the Stockholm Nordic Museum, 'Indian God of Peace' at St. Paul City Hall in Minnesota, and 'Meeting of the Waters' in St, Louis, Missouri. This particular piece retains inventory stickers from the North Carolina Museum of Art on the underside of the base. Dimensions: H: excluding marble base: 9 1/4 in., (23.5 cm.)
