A LANDSCAPE WITH A BIRCH TREE AND WILDFLOWERS, ATTRIBUTED TO YULY KLEVER (RUSSIAN, 1850–1924) - A richly colored and atmospheric landscape typical of the Baltic-Russian romantic tradition associated with Klever and his followers. The composition and palette reflect the influence of the Klever workshop, which produced numerous landscapes for the German and Baltic collecting market in the early 20th century. The stretcher bears later inscriptions. Signed lower left. Dimensions: H:24 1/4 in., (61.6 cm.) L:36 1/4 in., (92.1 cm.) Conditions: Craquelure and varnish darkening. Frame with wear and losses.
